Can you be a foster parent and still have pets?
By
I have cats and 2 dogs and was wondering if It would be okay for me to keep my pets and get approved for foster care, or if they only allow a certain number of pets in the household. I am a neat freak and clean my house every day, so I don’t think that cleanliness would be a problem. Also, all of my animals are fine with children, my husband and I usually host holidays and all of our nieces and nephews come and the animals love it! Thanks:)

We are just beginning our foster parent training and from what we have been told – the amount of pets you have is not an issue. As long as you aren’t one of those nutty animal collectors. What they do worry about is whether the animals are healthy and have been inoculated. And they do worry about some particular breeds of dogs. You know, the usual suspects. Other than that, we have had no issues and we have 4 dogs (little chihuahuas) and 4 cats. All are very used to our kids and very friendly.
