It's probably on for good, it might wear off a little overtime but it's not going to come completely off.
Just leave it the way it is I'm sure you can still sell it.

a turpentine bath could work... however- if the plastic is painted and not colored then all of the outer details will be removed. Way to check- put turpentine in a dish - just a couple of drops. put the pet on top of it and leave it there for about 48 hours. If when you pick it up after that time there is a pale or light colored stain on the bottom- don't do it. As long as nothing looks wrong visibly- rub the bottom with a clean cloth to dry and see if anything comes off. If it does - don't do it. If you did these and you got a nice clean seat on your pet where it was on it - then you will want to submerge it in a cup of it. If it doesn't stay submerged - just tie a string on it and tie the string to a rock on the other end. Leave it in there for about 48 hours and then check it. If it doesn't even look faded - then don't bother doing the others. It should be at least mostly gone if not completely clean. try rubbing with a clean damp cloth. If there is still some signs of the sharpie - leave it for another 24 hours and check it. Doing this will give you an estimate on how long the others will have to be submerged. Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless.
