go to any local pet pound or pet rescue place, they usually pre-potty train them too!

It can’t be free.
It costs money to care for dogs. Vaccinations, microchips, neutering, and other necessary procedures are expensive.
Plus especially since you’re looking for a purebred, you have to expect to pay a small adoption fee.

No dog is really free.
You will still have the expenses of food, supplies, and vet bills.
While you may find a “free” dog in a newspaper classified ad, you’re still going to be spending hundreds if not thousands per year on your dog.

You can’t adopt anything for free. Nothing in life is free. Being a dog lover means nothing if you cannot afford to pay a low adoption fee as well as needed fees for supplies and vet care (which will total around $400 in initial fees in the first two or so days and about $200 a month for general care… emergency fees can also be in the thousand dollar range.)

check your local pet rescue or check to see if the veterinarian in your town knows anyone who has got free puppies

Imaginationland.
If you can’t afford an adoption fee how are you going to afford vet fees? Food? Etc?

It is pretty irresponsible to give away pets for free because, unfortunately, there are some sick and evil people out there.
This website explains it pretty well:

I live in Wisconsin, so I’m more familiar with this group, but the issues they deal with are pretty similar in all 50 states.
It’s great if you find a free dog and give it the love and care that it deserves, but be understanding when you find that very few people are willing to give dogs away for free.
