only a FISH, betta or goldfish, in a “bowl” (a “tank” would NOT be okay).

I didn’t realize “No Pets” was such a difficult concept that it warranted a quesition on Yahoo! Answers, but here we go:
A “NO PET” policy means you are not supposed to have any pets.
If you’d like, you can take this up with your landlord to see if they will change the rules for you.

Fish? Tarantula? Snake? Turtle? Just get something that doesn’t make noise and can be hidden! Mom hid a rat in our apartment when I was a kid.

Most apartments I’ve lived in that had a no pet policy, really meant no pets that walk around or can have an accident on the carpet. Fish, hamsters or other rodents, birds in a cage were all fine. Their biggest concern is possible damage to any of the property from scratching, smell, allergens in the duct systems, etc. Just in case though, you should double check with your apartment manager.
