Pet Grooming With Diana – #2 Persian Cat Comb Out
ByPet groomer Diana from Paws ‘n Claws in North Hampton, NH shows you how to do a simple grooming comb out on a persian cat named Gizmo. Fortunately Gizmo is well behaved but Diana does have some tips for handling more difficult clients. Music “Winter Chimes” by: Kevin MacLeod.

Yeah she is ruff for sure but she does this all the time. Most cats will not put p with this unless they get groomed all the time. Gizmo is a great one for the vid obviously. She gets it done. Long and the short of it.

Why did the groomer brush ‘downwards’ under the cats neck? I was always told to brush upwards to the chin so it doesnt pull its skin. This is the most rough groomer I have seen for a long time. Honest- I know some VIP groomers.

I have a persian kittie, but I can’t imagine another groomer doing this to him even if they’re the best. I can’t put him through this, they’re delicate and very gentle. I’d never get clippers, I would brush them and just keep them clean and TLC. Bless him, they’re furry for a reason. It’s natural.

My cat george is a Turkish Agoria, Raggdoll, and persian mix. He has fur between his toes and I think thats so cute! I’ve never cut him but I’ve brushed him before.

Even if you held a cat like that chances are they’re still gonna go mad and land either a scratch or a bite on you.

Thank you for this video! I am new persian owner. My cat got matted because I was too nervous to really groom underneath. I ended up having her get the lion cut so i could start over. I am learning now how to groom her the right way and prevent any major matts from forming.

He is such a good cat. I have 2 little demons who are very lovey dovey unless it comes to getting combed or their nails clipped. Then it’s like dealing with two minature T-Rex’s

This was so helpful. We have 2 Himalayans and go through this on a regular basis. Our 19 year old recently died so now we have two siblings, one with silky hair and one with a thick coat like this Persian. We just purchased an Oster A5 clipper similar to what this groomer uses and was looking for tips on how to go about this. Video helped so much – thank you!

I don’t know. This does seem very rough. I comb my persian every day so I hope she will never get like this. She stretches out and purrs and grooms herself as I comb her. It takes about 20 minutes a day and I would advise people that don’t have the time to groom persians not to get them. Mind you my last persian flatly refused to be groomed and it was a constant battle for his entire 17 years.

Hi,
We have a 6 year old Persian named Frankie who we adopted a couple of weeks ago. He is very sweet and very furry! Where can I buy the tool that has the “hidden” blades and the curved surface? Also do you know a good cat groomer here in baltimore?
Thanks so much
Ana
