@bobomatrix try buying a tank filter and maybe your tank wont be so dirty.

@bobomatrix Try feeding them outside of the tank, and after they finish let them poop and do their things in the seperate tank a little. I do that with me three RES and after i see that they’ve pooped I put them back in their clean home!

@GoldenColts
Lol at don’tknow95, but yeah It’s very easy to build one. I built a second floor for my turtles by myself, and it looks like a suitable tank itself except for the ramp at the bottom. You just need to take measurements to someone who cuts plexiglass, and if you can afford it.. glass. Use silicone to glue the sides and done!

@cheetoman575 One of my turtles is 11 to 13 years old and he’s only 3 1/2 inches, his shell has a matured look to it but he’s very small. Just like people, some just don’t grow. I don’t know what the cause of it is though

Have you guys heard of shell pyramiding? Well I think my turtle might be developing it. It eats a lot, especially during the Summer. I feed it pellets, sometimes goldfish, sometimes shrimp. Should I feed it less of those or choose something else to feed it?
I don’t want its shell to pyramid too much.

I fed my two RES some meat and they poop every time!!! How do I keep my tank clean? I want my turtles to have healthy shells and stuff, but I can’t just clean the tank 24-7! Can someone give me advice? And also they get hungry a lot too! They show me that they’re hungry when they swim like crazy against the glass and stare at you! Help!

alot of species of fish and reptiles will only grow up to the size of their enviroment. If you place him in a bigger tank he may grow larger.

thats pretty big for a 1 year old turtle
February 9th, 2010 at 3:12 am
your gonna need a bigger environment for the turtle for it to grow more,like instead of a 10 gallon tank use a 20

Some turtles are just small… nothing to worry about. Just like how some people are shorter than others.

some turtles dont grow much my i had my turtle for 7 years and it is only 5 inches.or it could be the lack of proper lighting.some other reasons could be the lack of calciam and protien.

50 F? That’s way to cold man. It should be between 70-78. Is your house really that cold?
