Should I walk dogs for $40 a week?

By Cow

I saw a advertisement for dog walking in my building. They are looking for someone to walk their “small” dog a couple times a week. They are offering $40 a week. I have never really walked a dog before and am worrying about a accident if the dog gets hurt or run over. Should I take the job and if so what tips are there for keeping the dog safe. Is insurance a option? I don’t really want to spend much money.

YES. thats a lot of money for little work. all you have to do is keep the dog on the leash so it doesnt run away. of course make sure its a nice long one so it can still run around and have fun but youre still in control. take it to a park with no cars and not many small children and youre fine

Unless you have liability insurance and you have a business license and are bonded, I wouldn’t trust you with my dog. I sure wouldn’t trust someone who can’t even figure out where to buy an ironing board.

duhh you definitely should do it

YES. I would do anything for just about $40 a week. That means that after 10 weeks, you will have made 400 dollars. Easy money.

Tips: Hold the leashes tight on the dog in the beginning until it understands that you are going on a walk. Make it fun and maybe you will enjoy it enough to get a dog of your own!

Good Luck! :)

If you don’t have any knowledge of the dogs you will be walking or where you’ll be walking them then I wouldn’t take it on until you’ve schooled yourself on things that could happen. Yes you could be held responsible if the pet was killed and sued as well. If your not dog savvy then this wouldn’t be a good thing for you. You have to watch the dogs you are walking as well as any other dogs or people that they may incounter and then you need to know how to thwart any aggressive behaviors to keep the animals away from one another should an attack occur. Your setting yourself up to get bitten if you don’t know the basics of animal behavior and what to watch for. Take some classes before you take on another persons “children” it will benefit you and the pets in the long run. Good luck.
