The Animals – It’s My Life
By
It’s a hard world to get a break in All the good things have been taken But girl there are ways to make certain things pay Though I’m dressed in these rags, I’ll wear sable some day Hear what I say I’m gonna ride the serpent No more time spent sweatin’ rent Hear my command It ain’t no use, I’m breakin’ loose, Holdin’ me down, stick around But baby (baby) Remember (remember) It’s my life and I’ll do what I want It’s my mind and I’ll think what I want Show me I’m wrong, hurt me sometime But …

….And of course sometimes U’ll C a straight live performace with both singer & band live. And check out the post of The Kinks from 1 of the 60s music shows–They do a straight live version of “All Day & All Of The Night” & follow it up with a straight lipsynch of “Tired Of Waiting”…

This is NOT a lipsynch, but the music is piped in. Eric’s singing live 2 the studio backing track. Trust me, this is 1 of my all-time faves & I’ve listened 2 it enuff 2 recognize every single note/chord change. If U watch enuff of these 60s variety show clips/posts, sometimes U’ll C total band lip synch/mime 2 the record, other times U’ll C the band actually playing/singing faintly along with the studio track played louder, and other times U’ll C the above, with live lead singer & band miming.

Totally agree Much…U gotta remember people, these cheesy 60s variety shows belong 2 our parents & grandparents. They were finally coming 2 grips with all this strange new music & allowing it in2 their living rooms. They weren’t gonna just allow that without taking a few shots & cracking a few corny jokes at the band’s expense. Out of all of them, Ed Sullivan was prolly the only 1 who didn’t diss or joke on musical guests. Granted he prolly read each band’s bio right B4 they went on stage LoL

“It’s My Life” came out in late 1965 “Laugh In” came out around 1967 or 1968. Unfortunately I’m old enough to remember. Look it up if you don’t believe me.

Here’s my review for you. “Boring, a waste of everyone’s time. darxtar409er really doesn’t make interesting or valid comments. I don’t have a reason to care.” 1/2 star out of four.

Yeah it was a comment you made about a year ago, sorry it took me so long to exercise my right to comment.
Which scripture exactly are you quoting those definitions from? There’s a good one I know: “cursed are those who call someone stupid, or who bear false witness”. It probably isn’t wise to contradict those who know more than you. Have a nice life.

What’s up with the russian?
November 8th, 2009 at 6:52 am
I can’t even find the comment you’re responding to, but you don’t know what you’re talking about, so instead you just made something stupid up. What a waste of everyone’s time.
Sorry, riding the snake is the same as dancing with devils, or having a “Freak Out”. Worshiping Satan and calling forth demons to possesses you, to gain fame and power. How do you suppose a man can get famous by controlling Satan? Nitwit, he controls you.
Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

What an odd thing for her to say…
November 8th, 2009 at 8:18 am
He sings that he’s gonna ride (control) the serpent, not vice versa.

Yeah, I don’t think lipsynched existed this long ago

Are you absolutely sure? Do you really know or just offering an opinion because it is the nice thing to do?

The animals fucking rule so hard. I prefer listening to them over the Beetles or The Monkey’s any day….not that I’m saying either of those bands are bad, they’re great but the Animals are so under-rated.

This was 3 years before Laugh In !

Probably my favorite British Invasion tune of all time…used to lie in bed listening to the old AM station on my transitor radio, hoping they would play this song – what a classic!
I can live with the lipsynch job as most of the British bands were doing that on the TV shows back then. And how ’bout the gal on the wall above the fireplace – she’s really groovin’ away to the music at the 2:30 mark, and through most of the song.
Glad to see the video made it on here.
