What sea animals prey on penguins?

By Cow

I have to make a food chain for homework, so what animals prey on the things that prey on penguins? Is it sharks? And, what are plankton: producers, consumers, or decomposers? Are they carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores? and what do they eat?
Can the following answers answer the following questions:
-What animal feeds on lion seals?
-Are fish carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores? What do they eat?
-What do plankton eat?
-Are lion seals carnivore, or etc.? what do they eat? Are they producers, consumers, or decomposers?
THAnKS!

Sharks, seals and certain whales all eat penguins. Plankton can either be one of two groups: phytoplankton use photosynthesis to produce energey, zooplankton are carnivores that eat other plankton. Overall plankton are considered producers because they are the base of many aquatic food webs.

Hello.

There are 19 species of penguins. The primary predators for most penguins in Antarctica are the leopard seals. Large whales have also eaten penguins. On land, adult penguins do not tend to have predators, although dogs (when brought by man) have eaten many. However, penguin eggs and chicks in Antarctica have the skua birds as predators.

I hope this helps. I really can’t answer your question regarding plankton. You may want to try an encyclopedia for that one.

Good luck! Jim P.
