Where can I find good bird cages?
By
I’m looking to find small to medium sized bird cages at a fair cost. If anyone knows where I can find some that’d be great. Or do you think it is cheaper to build one?

Hi, I’d recommend a warehouse pet store.
You should aim to have a cage that is at least four times as wide as your birds wingspan, this allows them plenty of room to exercise.
A wider cage is preferred to a tall and cylindrical cage.
What country do you live in? I live in Australia and get my bird cages from Better Pets & Gardens, and spend up to $300 per cage. Cost is nothing compared to the happiness of your pet.
Good luck.

It all depends on what sort of birds you want to put in the cages, you may want to check out the pet ads in your local newspapers before going to a pet store.
Do you want breeding cages or just for keeping pet birds in? Whatever check out the ads first.

I’ve found good quality cages on E-Bay. These were new cages from Stores but priced well below the cages you see when you go to the pet shops. Be sure the cage is large enough for your bird. The bird should be able to flap his wings easily without touching the cage sides. Buy the largest cage you can afford but make sure that the bars are small enough that your bird cannot put his head through them.
